Themes to Use on Your Wedding

A lot of couples tie most of a wedding's aspects into a central theme. By linking the wedding ceremony party attire, flowers and decorations to this particular theme, you'll develop a memorable experience. Link most or all wedding activities to the theme, so guests clearly understand your intention. Pick a theme which means something for you plus your fiancé; the one which your invited guests will relish.

Location-Based Wedding Theme
Hold a themed wedding depending on the ceremony's location. If holding the ceremony about the beach, use tropical flowers as decorations and dress the wedding party in Hawaiian-print dresses and shirts. Give guests beach-related wedding mementos like coconuts or seashell-shaped soap. Dress the marriage party in wintry colors and warmer clothing for weddings held over a mountain; give groomsmen ski-shaped studs to use or give bridesmaids snowflake-shaped earrings.

Romantic Wedding Theme
Show love and romance in every single wedding aspect. Decorate with red or pink flowers, string white lights across the reception or ceremony area, and rehearse rich, dark colors in table settings. Give guests romantic wedding mementos, like decadent chocolates or miniature bottles of your respective favorite wine. Show the theme in small details by printing the text "love," "romance" and "soul mates" in soft tones on your own invitations, place-seating name tags and thank-you cards. Use dim lighting and candles in the reception and judge a band masters in soft rock or classic, romantic songs.

Seasonal Wedding Theme
Base the wedding for the season you're having it in. For spring weddings, use tulips and soft, pastel colors for bridal attire. Hold summer weddings outside under tents or canopies adorned with summer flowers, and dress the wedding ceremony party simply speaking sleeves or casual attire. Within the fall, decorate table settings with leaves and dress your wedding party in rich reds, oranges or browns. Hold formal weddings during the cold months, using white, black or blue for wedding attire, candelabras and invitations.

Vintage Wedding Theme
Demonstrate the timeless adore you plus your fiance share. Dress the marriage ceremony in vintage attire -- long dresses and gloves for bridesmaids; classic tuxedos for groomsmen. Rent historic bridal attire to tie the wedding with a specific era. Give bridesmaids parasols and edit ceremony photos in sepia tones. Use soft, muted beiges and browns for decorations and invitations. Display old photos of fogeys, grandparents and great-grandparents whose long marriages keep you going.
